does it hurt to take a deep breath? hurt when you move "just right" hurt to sit/stand make quick movements? you could have a rib out of joint, i know it sounds crazy but it happens. i have it alot , and most ER dr will think you are just looking for drugs, it does NOT show on an XRay. see a chiropractor or some family dr can do it too. try some motrin to help with the swelling a warm shower to help relax the muscles around it, it may "pop" in on its own
You have a rib out of place and need to see a chiropractor. You may be able to have someone gently push on the area and put it back in place. Then ice it...
Could be a kidney stone
I think this would be your posture. Please try and stand up or sit on a chair correctly. I had a similar problem and after numerous advice and testing to see where this pain was coming from, an old GP pointed this out to me that I was not sitting correctly and that my rib cage was pushing had up against my sides causing all sorts of funny things to happen.
I thought the worst back then. Try and see how you go.
Have you been doing something where you've had to sort of bend or slouch a little, for instance, typing at a desk that's too low for you? I get the same thing when I've been slouching at my desk, or if I've been washing dishes (which involves bending forward slightly at an uncomfortable angle).
