Heart Pain?
Question:
Answers:
First off, your heart isn't on the left side of your chest, though many people think it is. It's actually right in the center. There are LOTS of things that could cause a pain in your chest, chiefly a muscle pull. Gas could also cause it, reflux, etc. There is also the chance that the pain IS in or near your heart. Heart murmurs don't generally cause pain, but if the arteries that feed the heart become blocked with cholesterol deposits, pain could result.
I'd say get to your doctor for a thorough checkup, especially if you're over 40, have diabetes or high blood pressure or a family history of heart disease. If you're overweight, lose weight. Try to get some more exercise. I'd also suggest maybe changing pillows or propping yourself up a bit to support your back and chest in case a muscle pull is causing this.
First off, if you are having pain you should go and get checked out by a doctor immediately.
I also have a heart murmur, and I sometimes have pain. I have been told that it is many different things. They have said it was a virus, or just pain in the muscles around the heart.
Please be better safe than sorry, and go to the doctors! Be sure to be safe!
Chest pain, especially if you're in the adult age group can be a symptom of underlying heart disease (coronary artery obstruction, angina, impending heart attack). This should be checked out ASAP with a doctor!
Don't mess around with this, get checked out right away!
