Why cant the brain remember pain?

I can remember headaches and how painful they was and I can also remember when they did surgery on my left ear I came home and that was painful! I can also remember when I sprained my left ankle years ago and sometimes it feels like I sprained it all over again! I can even remember the pain in my left knee and my left knee was hurting again today!

I know that sometimes the brain will block some traumatic events that may occur. But as far as physical pain, I don't believe that your statement is true.
I have been in some VERY painful situations and I remember every bit of them.
