Night sweats??

Question:
Hi,
First I wanted to thank people who replied last time I asked this- I am still stuck in the same place so thought why not ask again, see if anyone has any ideas at all!

Heres the problem:
I am 26, I have a history of anorexia and bulima though am at the moment (and have been for several months) a healthy weight. (Body mass index is 20)
I have been having night sweats for years now, I dont get them at a low weight (Body mass index of less than 17) but even though my weight is stable now, I still get them.

I am often too worked up to sleep now, I can stay up all night (and yes I do get very tierd) as I cant take waking up and being so wet- seriously were talking about wringing out clothes here or comming to do laundry two days later and still finding my bed clothes and sheets wet.
not damp. wet.

I get them every night. Each time is around 4 to 6 am. I donot take any pills -aside from seroxat first thing in the morning at 8am. I go to the gym 3Xs a week 1+ hours a time.

Answers:
I would suggest that a full work up by the doctor is in order. That much sweating is not normal, it could be a hormonal imbalance, it could be a disease process. The only way you are going to know for sure is to get checked.
Have you spoken to your doctor?

I think you are probably suffering from stress.

Please see your doctor. x
try not being selfish, I E Me Me Me train of thought, think about the guys and gals that have no food, and not your body mass index!!
This is down to anxiety, you need to speak to your doctor. It is definately not a physical problem.
Night sweats can be a symptom of many different conditions and this needs to be discussed with your doctor. Certainly lung and blood diseases have night sweats as one of the top several symptoms. Interesting, however, is the anorexia/bulemia and if that plays a role here. Anorexia can cause hormone issues and I wonder if your body is simply trying to readjust to its more healthy state now, which I suppose could definitely be the case. At any rate, this needs to be discussed with your doctor and blood work and a chest x-ray needs to be done.
Is your weight OK to the point where you are having periods again?
At times, anorexia can have effects on your estrigon levels which can cause night sweats. If you haven't already, see your GYN to get checked out
Hi I get night sweats too but not anywhere near what your getting, that is not normal,I don't want to worry you but see your doctor to make sure that there is nothing serious goin on.It could also have something to do with your medication gd luck and try and get some sleep x
do wear a cotton shirt only and no blankets maybe a sheet and when it gets colder one thin wool blanket.Natural fibers.
The clinic below may give a new perspective on your condition-and investigate your other symptoms which may all be related.
I get them too once in a while...have you ruled out sleep disorders such as apnea? Other than that it could be a whole host of problems and you should really consult an MD for tests.
