Low Blood Pressure?

Question:
My dad had high blood pressure. He went to the doc and he gave him pills high blood pressure . He says they make him feel weak, tired, and dizzy. Hes also been on a diet and has been walking 3 miles a day. And now he thinks his blood pressure is too low- it is 111/66 pulse-92 and he weighs about 210lbs. Is this too low??

Answers:
No, it's great. It is probably the fact he had become accustomed to the higher blood pressure & now that it is normal he feels weak & tired. This is a common complaint of people who first start BP mesd & it may take awhile to pass. If it continues to be a problem & does not resolve have him talk with his Doctor about a different med.Good Luck
No, not to low, but if the medicine is not agreeing with, him he should get it changed, might have to try several different ones untill he feels better!
It could be the diet, the heat, many things causing the dizziness. It could be the pills. Sometimes you have to try a couple of kinds to find the one that works best for your body. Be care of some HBP pills. Some will make you cough uncontrollably.
For years and years the optimum blood pressure was supposed to be 120/80.

In the last couple years research is showing that the old number is too high.

If you dad is exercising and eating better he may not need blood pressure medication any more. Have him check out that possibility.
