Hi when ever i sit on the sofa i get really sharp back pain in an area of my back this is so unusual. also when i sit up in bed.

Bad posture. sit up straight shoulders back then if pain persists seek medical advise.
because you're sitting on your coccyx causing too much pressure .you need to either sit directly upright,square on your bottom,or place a pillow on your coccycal area that you've slouched down to!!!!
Start stretching. Do hamstring stretching, and core strengthening.
