My sister was a cheerleader for four years and ended up having this same problem. Her result was using a type of wrist bandage she got at Wal-Mart or a health store. They cost an average of $10. That or after practicing take some saran wrap and ice and wrap them around your wrists, kinda like a shin splint only on your wrists instead. This will help with any soreness or swelling that may occur. Medicines can only dull the pain, it won't help it if you continue.
