Answers:
If you haven't worked these muscles out before, or haven't worked them out after such a long period, extremely sore muscles 1-2 days after the workout is very normal. As you recover, they will not be as sore in future similar workouts. Other soreness might be caused by hyperextension.
Why is it so sore? When you work out a muscle that has not beed used in a while, you are releasing a lot of stored lactic acid into the surrounding areas. This acid is also released when you do basic stretching. It is important to drink plenty of water to dilute and flush these acids out of your body once they are released. As you exercise more, there won't be as much lactic acid buildup in your body as when you started, so the soreness should subside.
What causes this lactic acid buildup? I think it's a natural effect of what you eat. My guess is that sugary and starchy foods contribute to lactic acid buildup. Fresh fruits and vegetables probably help lessen acid buildup due to their alkalizing nature. An acidic body is a haven for cancer.
You will have to bear 1-3 days of muscle soreness in the initial stage, but it should get better. Be sure to stretch before and after your exercises to help those muscles relax. Also, avoid situations where the muscles are exposed to a chill, even if you feel hot and sweaty. This is why you will see baseball pitchers wear jackets on hot days.
If you are experiencing muscle cramps, eat a banana a day. Cramps are from potassium deficiency.
after u workout (and take a protein shake or something), take a shower with hot water then about 3 mins into it, switch to cold water. 3 mins later switch back to hot then 3 mins later switch to cold. im not an expert or anything so i dont kno how to explain wut this does to ur body but i do kno it worked for me
If possible soak in a hot bath to relax the muscles. Then always be sure to stretch your musclues out before and after you exercise or play a game. You can also use a muscle ache relief cream such as BioFreeze. It is very soothing with a cool tingle of menthol.
You've heard the phrase "no pain, no gain". You said it was "intensive" so the idea is to improve your performance and sore muscles are necessary to that end. Every athlete goes through that. The solution is simple, eat right and get plenty of sleep. Let your body heal and give it the rest and nutrition it needs to do that. I'd eat a large amount of food in this scenario, not fats...but proteins and carbs.and sleep more than usual. If the pain is to much, I'd just take a pain-reliever.
i get like that after soccer too. i usually take a hot bath, turn on the ipod, and just chill. get a full nights sleep. if you can get a massage, those feel really good when youre sore.
One thing that is very good for sore muscles is a nice, warm bath and you can use Epsom salts in the bath too. It is usually about 2 cups added to your bath. Lotions for sore muscles works well too; along with ice packs.
