Have you ever pulled the muscle between your rib cage and your lungs?

Question:
if you have how long does it take to heal...yes i have and yes it hurts i've been off work 3 weeks going into my fourth week

Answers:
The Muscles between the ribs are called "The Intercostal Muscles"
These muscles are found between the ribs, and there are two kinds: the internal and external intercostals. The internal intercostal muscles (in the inside of the rib case) extend from the front of the ribs, and go around back, past the bend in the ribs. The external intercostal muscles (on the outside of the rib case) wrap around from the back of the rib almost to the end of the bony part of the rib in front.

Other Muscles that can cause pain in this area are three flat muscles called Internal oblique muscles these lie immediately underneath ribs.

Treatment for muscle strains is normally rest along with Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) analgesic (Ibuprofen).

If your diagnosis is muscle strain in the chest area you possible have increased pain when breathing deeply. Because it is difficult to rest this muscle group recovery can take anything from 6 - 12 weeks normally you should be able to manage the pain after about 4 weeks. This though depends on the individual and what activities are being
performed.

OMG YES!
its awful. probably one of the worst pains ive ever been in in my life. i have played a lot of soccer both high school and college let me tell you its not fun.
it still hurts me to this day and its been a few years since then. it probably would take (with rest and relaxation not running and jogging like i was) not more than 4-6 months to heal. you should be able to bear the pain and handle it in another 2 weeks try some icy hot and excedrin. itll help a ton and does make you drowsy or anything. good luck stay strong.
i pull a muscle every night but it`a bit further down,,,,,:)
I have pulled and/or torn the rectos area of the abdominal muscles (external obliques where they anchor onto each rib) recently. I can work (desk job), but the first 4 plus weeks were sheer agony, and the doctor tells me that I'd be fine in three weeks if I did not have to breathe or move at all...but since that's impossible, I can plan on lingering pain for several months...I totally "feel your pain"...
gosh yes and its absolute agony. it takes time to get better, get plenty of rest and take things easy. hope you're soon well again.
