What is Osgood/Schlatters and a few more questions?

Question:
Football is comeing up and last year I had problems with that disease thing because i've been growing a lot. I talked to a trainer and she told me to do stretches but this year i'm afaid of a helmet hitting the bump thing it gave me (the bump is directly below my knee and is painfull to impact)any idea how i could pad it or something to make it hurt less in game?

Answers:
Ouch!

If you want to play in regular foot games, you need to follow the instructions of your doctor and trainer, but you will need to rest well before and after a game, making sure you apply ice after the game to help reduce pain and swelling.

I am not sure if there is any thing that you can use to cover or protect the area, but ask you coach/trainer if strapping it will help.

I have found a few links that may or may not help.

Good luck with the leg and games.
