Any advice on relieving pain for a slipped disc?

Question:

Answers:
Treatment options range from basic rest, ice or heat and gradually resuming activity to medication, exercise, physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, acupuncture and surgery.

Depending upon how bad the pain is, try Over-the-Counter (OTC) meds like Naproxen which will help reduce the inflammation. Check with your pharmacist to see if there were any other OTC that you could try.

Try warm compresses or heating pads.

If that doesn't work, then you might have to have your doctor try giving you a muscle relaxer like Norflex and see if that helps.

If that doesn't work, then have them try a pain killer such as Morphine or a related drug.

Next, you can have a epidural steroid injection that might help.

Finallly, you can have a Minimally invasive lumbar laminotomy/discectomy Operation performed.

If you have only had X-Rays on your back, you should probably have an MRI or Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) scan done as the MRI/CAT scans are the only ways to really identify a buldge/slipped disk.
