Ear pain while flying -how to avoid this?
Question:
Answers:
Chewing gum really does help. That's what I always do on the flight, and this has been a problem for me in the past.
You can also take a pain reliever and maybe some dramamine before you take off, and then sleep through the flight, and not have too much pain when you wake up, upon landing.
Not saying these things will work for you, but they work for me. Good luck to you.
Try chewing gum, yawning a lot, or swallowing a lot. All three are supposed to help relieve pressure in the ears.
i heard somewhere chewing gum helps

i ahve had this to MAKE SURE U R NOT HAVING OR GETTING A EAR INFECTION I GO ON ANTIBOTICS I know how bad the pain is and i alos have learned to hold my breath and then blow it out my nose to help ez the pain a little this is like givin birth thru your ear bless u i can relate
I used to suffer when I would go to Europe. It would start when the plane started decending. A stewardess saw me in agony and came to the rescue. I do it every time I fly now. Tell the flight att. ahead of time so she can be prepared. You take a strofoam cup...Put some hot water wet paper towel in the bottom of the cup and hold it to your ear very tight. The moouth of the cup over your ear.
Next time you can have a painless flight. Even ask how long the decent will take and if it is long she will give you more hot wet paper.
It might be due to accumulation of wax in your ear. Better see a doctor.
Hope this helps
