What will a doctor do for you if you have a broken finger?
Question:
Answers:
x-ray to confirm break, and set break appropriately, maybe give something for pain
He'll realign the bones if needed and put a splint on it.
Cut it off.
he will applky cast to your fingers, but it depends upon the severity of the broken fingers...
generally they will do nothing for it but straighten it out and "buddy tape" it to your ring finger to immobilize it. However, if it is broken in certain ways you could have some significant lasting ill effects.judgment call if you go to the ddoc and have them x-ray it.
It will depend on nature of the break for a small finger a doctor will xray to determine if the are any shards of bone or mis alignment which may hinder fusion, if all is well it will just be splinted but it is always best to get it checked out and x-rayed for any complications, plus you can get pain relieving medication which is a bonus.
if u cant move it i think it is broken but if it seriously got injured and hurts a lot it can be a hair line fracture. best thing to do is put a lot of ice abd visit a docter. if it is a small thing he might plaster it but mostly he will tell u to tie it up.
really do go to the doc.
take an x-ray to see if its broken
and if its broken and needs to me set then they will set it, then cast it or up the splint back on.
it kinda hard to tell you about it if i cant see it, so your should prolly get it checked out. you will be fine!!
He'll tape two popsicle sticks on it for you...or, you can just eat two popsicles and do it yourself. Who would've thought that having a broken finger could be so yummy? ENJOY!
My niece had a similar injury, she actually needed surgery because she had a floating bone fragment. It does sound broken and if you don't need any surgery, they will just x-ray the finger (this hurts because they move it all around *ouch*), then they may use a plastic/metal splint and tape. Pretty simple!! Good Luck and I hope your finger heals soon!
It depends on how bad you broke it. If it is a simple break and you are not crooked then go and buy a splint from Wal-Mart and do it yourself.
If your finger looks crooked then go to the doctor they may have to realign it then put a splint on it.
Sometimes you may have broke it so bad that they would need to put pins in it.
As I said depends on how bad it is.
If it is not a complete fracture where the bones are discernibly disconnected, then do this. Take the finger and tape it to the one next to it. Your pinky, eh. That's the best one to tape to your ringie. I ain't there; can't see it. If it's visibly broken, use my advice and save your self some time and money. If you can see or feel a bone separation , it's to the Drs. . Been through this several times. Don't use a friggen splint; tape is more protective.
