hey ipj9! it's me...well i just got mine few weeks ago and it was really odd because mine didn't hurt at all, although i did start to black out in the waiting room and my arm felt a little limp. anyway it never got sore or anything.
ACTUALLY MY ADVICE IS TO LOOK
i have to look at the needle so i know when it's coming, but i couldn't really see the needle anyway, but i think it works a lot better. & when they say relax, RELAX. it helps. i also like to look at the liquid going down. idk why.it does feel weird though...but i have a high tolerance for pain
& i only had to get 1 shot! ^_^
nothing to get worried about.
The tetanus doesn't hurt any more than any other shot when they're giving it to you. Your arm might be a little sore in the muscle the next day, because they do deliver the shot in the muscle.
I take a deep breath and force that arm to relax. I let my opposite arm clench if I need to, but try to keep that muscle from clenching. The tighter the muscle is, the more sore it will be.
But, really, it isn't that bad, just like a little bruise.
usually if you massage the area in which you got the shot, it helps. let the wound close up, but then do it. this helps the medicine to circulate through your system faster and not just sit in one place in your arm, waiting for your body to absorb it. hope that helps!
gettting the shots are no more or less painful than any other shots.
the next day you may have some soreness in the area where you received the shots tho.
Quick sting and it is over in seconds, just like most shots. It just hurts after wards for a day or two, your arm may feel hevy and be a bit sore. You can take some panadole or something and use an ice-pack. Dont favour the arm though keep it moving to help the medicine move round the body.
