Identify an insect bite... help it hurts !!?

Question:
So i was reading in my room when i hear a buzzing on my forehead, i swatted at it, and it stung my opposite thumb. Now my thumb is swollen, itchy, red, and gets hot and throbs. Does anyone know how to treat it so it goes away fast, or what kind of insect it was?

Answers:
It could have been anything from a flying ant to a bee. It could be anything.

I would put a paste of baking soda and water on it, and if it doesn't go down in a few hours then I would head to the doctor just to be sure.

Are you sure it was a sting and not a bite?
Bee, hornet, wasp, take your pick. go outside and make some mud...dirt + water = mud paste...stick thumb in to paste till hurt goes away. This may have to be repeated a couple of times during the day..but it will soon be history.
you probably need some anti-histamine as u probably have a small alergic reaction. go the the pharmacy they can sort u out whith some cream or tablets! sure u will be fine but make sure u treat it, dont want it to get infected now do we! good luck!
when ever i get a bug bite or any kind of bite that i dint know, i put purification oil (from young living )in that bite. it usually numb that bite area within our. within 1 day its gone.

if you are a outdoor person.keep this oil handy. its a first aid for bug bite.
benadryl cream that makes it go down within the first day and then it stop hurting within 2-3 days that is for any type of animal bite or sting k so it should help clean it before you apply it the cream cost like 4 dollars good luck take care
If you did not see the insect, there's no telling what bit you. I don't think it was a bee, or you probably would have seen it, as bees are pretty large. There are lots of flying pesty bugs that bite and sting, and any of those could have gotten you. Put hydrogen peroxide on the bite and take two Benadryl tablets. If you are concerned, or if you experience a fever, hives, a rash, itching all over, or other severe symptoms, go to the emergency room or your doctor's office immediately.
It sounds like a bee sting. It also could've been a wasp. If there is nothing left inside put ice on it straight away.
