Identify an insect bite... help it hurts !!?
Question:
Answers:
It could have been anything from a flying ant to a bee. It could be anything.
I would put a paste of baking soda and water on it, and if it doesn't go down in a few hours then I would head to the doctor just to be sure.
Are you sure it was a sting and not a bite?
Bee, hornet, wasp, take your pick. go outside and make some mud...dirt + water = mud paste...stick thumb in to paste till hurt goes away. This may have to be repeated a couple of times during the day..but it will soon be history.

If you did not see the insect, there's no telling what bit you. I don't think it was a bee, or you probably would have seen it, as bees are pretty large. There are lots of flying pesty bugs that bite and sting, and any of those could have gotten you. Put hydrogen peroxide on the bite and take two Benadryl tablets. If you are concerned, or if you experience a fever, hives, a rash, itching all over, or other severe symptoms, go to the emergency room or your doctor's office immediately.
It sounds like a bee sting. It also could've been a wasp. If there is nothing left inside put ice on it straight away.
