How can sciatic pain be treated?
Question:
Answers:
Sciatica occurs when the nerve is pinched. The way to relieve the pain is to unpinch the nerve. You can take medications, herbs, antiinflammatories, smoke pot, get massage. All these will help with the symptoms, but you still have to unpinch the nerve. See a chiropractor, this is their speciality. Surgery will unpinch the nerve, but an adjustment is so much cheaper.
The only treatment that worked for me was chiropractic...took the pressure off my nerve.
There are so many new ways to help this situation. I had the same thing, called "Spinal canal stenosis". It got so bad that I had to have surgery (laminectomy). It's helped a lot, but now, 8 yrs. later, I'm having problems again. Today, there are so many other treatments that you can get without surgery. But, don't wait. See an Orthopedic doctor and a Rheumatologist RIGHT NOW, before it gets worse. Don't try to treat yourself. Sciatic pain comes from pinched nerves in your lumbar spine area. Don't wait - make an app't. now. Good luck!!
I am a massage therapist , I have had sciatic pain. I found that massage therapy, with stretching regularly really helped alot, also sleeping in certain positions and taking a round smooth stone to bed so you can dig into the sciatic nerve to release it. Colonics also helped because it took the pressure off of the nerve.
Have you tried a Yahoo search for sciatica + "natural remedies"?
Sciatic pain can be caused by "trigger points" in the paraformis muscle.
Do a little reading on "Trigger points".
Find out just exactly where the paraformis muscle is located and what it does.
Locate a good massage therapist that understands trigger point therapy and have work done to release the tightness.
I bet a nickle it is in your right leg.
