Fainted: Dehydrated or Over Hydrated?

Question:
I recently fainted and it was kinda out of the blue. I hadn't done it in well over 10 years...I had been getting alot of headaches and had been feeling tired for a few weeks before I did.(Still feel that way) I went to my heart doc's cause I have a problem with my ticker to see if it was related-she said that my tests came back normal and that I was pry dehydrated.Ok-TRUST ME-I drink alot more than 8 glasses of water aday-my dad and I are both complete water buffalos and gulp down about 4 water bottles before leaving for work. She said that if that was the case-I'm not getting enough salt in my diet.lol-That was the last thing I expected her to say-Salt is like a side dish in my house. She says I need to add 50% to prevent another spell. Now here's the question-Is it possible that I am over hydrated?I'm pretty short, and my best friend thought i was even before that

Answers:
I really don't know if that could be your problem or not. I know that when I was diagnosed with renal failure, they said it was because I drank to many fluids! I was very sick for quite some time, my symptoms were: constant urination, confusion, headache and weakness. I did not faint at any time though.
I thought this was the weirdest thing I had ever heard! I mean I didn't know that it was possible to drink to much(water, fluids).
I know you probably heard of the woman who died from drinking to much water. She was doing a radio contest to win a gaming system for her kids. The contest was to see who could drink the most water in the least amount of time, without going to the bathroom. She started having a really bad headache and then died a few hours later. It was a very sad thing to hear. I guess it is true when they say everything in moderation, even water.
Good Luck and I hope you feel better soon!
dehydrated for sure > never let yourself get that way
You could possibly have a sinus infection and not know it. You don't have to have a stuffy noise to have an infection. Go to an ear, nose and throat doctor.

Hope this helps.
No you are dehydrated because when you eat salt it soaks up all the water in your diet. You said it was like a side dish..well that means since you drink a lot of water and you eat salt and stuff like that then the salt soaks up all the water. So I would cut down with all of the salt because she said 50% more. NO WAY! that is a HUGE amount of salt. I wouldn't eat that much salt because then you will faint again because you lost all the water in your body. If your going to eat salt as a sidedish lol then you might want to drink more water if your going to eat more salt. Or you can eat just a little salt and just drink a little less then if you eat a lot of salt. Your probably going "Huh" as soon as you read this. Lol sorry I'm done I'm done. So either cut down on the salt and start drinking drinking more water or eat a little more salt but drink LOTS of water. Good Luck!
