Dark Blood?

Question:
Is it a bad thing to have dark blood? I had my blood drawn from my left arm in one of my veins. It was dark but not black. When the nurse put the little gauze pad on the draw site, the blood was bright on the gauze.

Answers:
blood is red, it may look darker when looking at your vessels throught you skin, but once exposed to the air, it is red. Could be darker red (almost purple) if you have a lower blood count, or it is clotting.
