what should i do to help this?
Answers:
Goodness! Knees are delicate. 1) You must continue to consult your doctor about your proper medication. 2) Avoid hard games that would strain your knees. 3) How about doing mild exercise for your knees.
I say so because I had excruciating pain on both knees. Had seen the doctor who thought that it was due to my running games during school time and according to him I needed injection right into my knees. It helped for 1 month but the pain returned back. Of course I did not want to be injected on the knees every time...so I thought of doing exercises with my knees. True enough, the pain stopped and now I am OK.
Osgood Schlatters Disease is caused by overuse of the quad muscle pulling on the patella tendon where it attaches on the tibia (shin bone) A couple things that will help.physical therapy to work on the strength of your hamstring, hip and butt muscles b/c these muscles are weak and you end up using your quad (front of thigh) too much. You should also be placing an ice bag directly on the area that hurts for 15 mins at least once a day for the next 7-10 days and ASAP after playing basketball.
Painkillers like Advil help. Anything with Ibuprofen in it will cause the pain to go away. Tylenol, Aleve, even store brand pain killers. If that doesn't work you should explain your symptoms to your doctor. You and your doctor know more about your body then anyone else. I hope that helps.
do some googling with some one who knows medical terms and decide about the various treatment options.and select one.
u may restrict yourself from hard games too.
