Trouble Sleeping?


Question:
The last 2-3 nights. I have been having some trouble sleeping. I will try to just lay there and relax. but it dosnt seem to work.
I have to listen to my Ipod for about a half hour before i get sleepy. its about 1-1:30 when i end up falling asleep. School starts in about a month. so i need to start getting some more sleep. does anybody know any tricks or ideas to help me get to sleep faster. im only 14. so most sleep meds. probaly wont work. and i hate to swallow pills. please help!

I suffer from this regularly.

What I find helps is if I get up REALLY early the next day - despite how tired I am and no matter how late I went to bed the previous night.

I would set your alarm for 6am and make sure you get up for the next few weeks.

Even if you still don't go to bed early that night the next night you will, even if it just starts getting gradually earlier and earlier its something that your body will adjust to and start getting used to going to bed at a good time again.
go to your dr, if it doesnt go away soon..it could be a mild case of insomnia..try to have a routine, like do not look @ a computer or tv screen after 9:00, don't excersize late, don't go to bed @ all different times during the week, and do something relaxing..like have sleepytime tea w/ honey before bed and listen to soothing music and read a not-too-action-packed book
you might try Reading a book and listening to your ipod also you might try exercising till you wear yourself out right before bed.
You could try some aromatherapy, such as lavendar pillow spray or if you want you can put some dried lavendar in a little bag and put it on/under your pillow.
