Ok i have sprained my ankle and is there something i can do not to stop the pain or anything but just to help?

Question:
dont feel like visiting doctors dont care but they cant do anything so its a waste of time

Answers:
I am not a doc. But i work for Ortho docs. The thing is, how are you sure it is only sprained? There are many ligaments around the ankle, not to mention small bones in the foot. My first suggestion is to go see a doc. BUT if you are not going to do that, RICE: Rest ,Ice, Compression, Elevation. Stay off it, ice it (a bag of frozen peas works), wrap it in an ace bandage, and keep it above heart level to keep the swelling down. You can also get an ankle brace from your local pharmacy to give it some stability. If You are still having pain next week make an appt to see a doc. You are not going to really know what is going on until you have some x-rays done on it.
Rest, ice, elevation, and over-the-counter pain relievers like Advil, Tylenol, etc. (just make sure to follow the dosage instructions).
take a hot bath and soak it in the water after you have dissolved 2 cups of epsom salt. it takes away the pain and also relaxs ther rest of your body.

hope it helps you like it did for me!
The first 24 to 48 hours you should apply ice; you can do this by getting frozen veggies/peas that may be already in your freezer; if you have ice cubes you can put them in a sandwich bag. Apply right away after sprain and then for 15-20 minutes 6 times a day for at 1 or two days then you can use warm compresses; warm up some face clothes and apply to sprain. For the pain and most of all for the swelling take Ibuprofen up to 3 tablets of 200mg which will make 600mg. If you are under 120 pounds only take two. Also elevate your sprained ankle; prop it up with a pillow; and avoid running or strenuous activity. If you see visible deformities than you do need to see a doctor. Hope you get better good luck

Do not subsitute tylenol instead of ibuprofen; tylenol works on pain but will not reduce the swelling
listen to what the lady before me said---she knows what she's talking about! Feel better soon!
