If i am constipated would the use of ones own or anothers finger assist?

Question:
and, if so what methods or techniques would one employ to get the optimal results?

Answers:
No need to jump straight to the finger, man... There are plenty of over-the-counter laxitives that should "open the sluices" so to speak. Just visit your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for a recommendation. Or consult your family physician. DO NOT GO STICKING A FINGER UP YOUR BUM.

[The use of fingers really does nothing unless your bowels are impacted - at which time, the feces causing the blockage must be removed before the bowels will function normally. Under no circumstances should this be done at home - this MUST be done by a trained nurse or physician as to prevent internal damage.]
No, that is very unsafe, you could tear something. Try xome prune juice, or there are many over the counter laxatives that you could use.
That's pretty nasty. I think if using something orally doesn't work and you really need to insert something rectally, use suppositories.
Purchase a Fleets enema. It's clean and quick and inexpensive. Follow directions for best results.
You need to drink plenty of fluids (maybe 1.5 litres per day for an adult). Water, not coffee or other rubbish. And at least one fresh orange each day. I don't know about the finger idea.
The only time that a finger should be involved is if you have an impaction, and then it should only be done by a licensed nurse.
That's how my mother used to do me when I was 6 or 7 years old - she dipped her finger in liquid soap first. It worked, I did a doodle, but it's not a treatment I particularly recommend, unless really desparate...
