What are some of the reasons one would get ear drum replacement surgery??

I can't hear at all out of my right ear, i get constant dizzyness and migranes because of the pain. being on the comptuer is even painful for me!
so: what ARE some of the reasons people get ear drum replacement surgery????

they repair eardrums, but they don't replace them. my boys have ear problems and both have ruptured their ear drums 5 or 6 times each. it heals on its own. you may want to talk to the doctor about tubes in your ears. my son is having the surgery for the 8th time on the 26th because they fall out after awhile. sounds like you just need some more antibiotics and healing time. sometimes there is still a small whole or perforation, but it doesn't usually cause problems.
Well, rupturing your ear drum might be a very good reason...if it isn't reparable. But some severe forms of Tinnitus are reasons to get this procedure as well.
