I'm volunteering at a hospital b/c I want to be a doctor...would this be considered rude?
Question:
So, my question is, if I'm around a neurologist, or any doctor for that matter, would it be rude if I asked them just anything along the lines of med school, residency, or just a simple curious medical question?
Thanks to anyone who helps!
Answers:
It might not be rude but you should be prepared to get the cold shoulder. My experience with a lot of those Docs is that they don't have the time patiences or people skills to be gracious enough to answer questions. That doesn't mean they are all like that... just some of them. If you find a Doc who doesn't seem busy and you want to ask a few quesitons go ahead... the nurses will help you a lot with those questions too. Just ask them politely and leave out the typical teenage slang...
Good Luck and good for you!
no it would be good to to help you learn
Some doctors can be real SOB's and some are pretty cool. It's a crap shoot either way. There's nothing wrong with you asking though. Just be prepared for some rudeness. Good luck on your noble pursuit...
im sure they will gladly answer you questions. just say it not rudely.
Be polite, and ask them if you can ask questions when they are not busy. don't be afraid to talk to the nurses either. mostly you'll be working with them anyway.
It would be alright to ask. Just make sure they are not real busy when you ask them.
