New athletic shoes and knee pain?

Question:
I have recently purchased a high-end pair of sneakers which have the built -in foot support system, because I work out a lot..

I have never had a knee problem, but since using these new shoes I've developed pain in my right knee after using the treadmill. The strange thing is: these shoes are super-comfortable on my feet. Has anyone ever experienced this before with new shoes?

Answers:
Often times knee pain can come from what is going on with your feet. This is especially true if you have pronated (flat) feet. If you do then you would require an athletic shoe that has a built up arch support on the inside portion of the shoe to support your medial (inside) arch. I would recommend that you find a running store in your area that has more knowledgeable staff than you would find at a Footlocker, etc. They would be able to assess your feet and fit you with the proper athletic shoe.
It could be the shoes. Did you get them at a regular shoe store that fits you for shoes and measures your feet etc? If you did I would go back to them and talk to them about this as they may not have sold you the right type of shoe for the activity you are doing. If you didn't buy them at a regular shoe store then there is nothing you can do but stop wearing these shoes and GO TO A REGULAR shoe store and get fitted for the right type of shoe.
These shoes do not fit you properly; go to a running shoe store with trained fitters.
