Can't Sleep?
Question:

if you just want to have a proper "routine", then pick one, and stick to it! every day, get up at the same time, NO MATTER WHAT! your body will eventually tell you when it is time to go to bed, because you will be sooooo tired at first. it'll be easier after a week, and become an actual habit after a month.
if you are actually having problems sleeping, i have SO been there. here are some tips to get to sleep:
-don't do ANYTHING in bed other than sleep/ have sex. no reading, eating, tv, etc.
-no caffeine after about 2pm.
-try having a hot bath or shower before bed (the drop in body temp. after you get out is a signal to go to sleep... weird..)
-try aromatherapy (lavender is relaxing)
-if you can't sleep after 1/2 an hour, get up and do something SOOO boring like reading a book for about 10 minutes until you get sleepier. don't watch tv!
-generally, stay away from heart-rate-boosting activities like exercise in the evenings. of course, some people SWEAR by it... but if you exercise in the morning, you'll get the benefit of making your body tired with out "waking it up" before bed.
-try warm milk or camomile tea before bed.
-routine DOES help sleep issues, too. training your body to get used to a regular schedule helps to initiate "bedtime" in your brain.
-don't have food 2 hours before bed.
-try kicking the pets out of the room.
-try a new mattress/ pillow
trust me, i've tried it all! i don't like using sleeping pills, because i feel stoned the next day (in a BAD way).
good luck!
sorry im a night owl i have no idea i cant sleep at night
It is 2am, and if you find out, let me know.
Meridium XN. Look it up. I promise it helps. I had the same problem.
weed an hour and a half before going to bed works wonders
i'm the same way... but i guess you can either try to sleep at night with the light on. or just lay down, close ur eyes and think about how comfy you feel and let all the thoughts just move around in your mind, and then you might gently drift off to sleep...
I have the same problem. Set an alarm really early every day. Then your sleep schedule will move back to the time you want. (You just have to make sure to go to sleep when your tired)
stay awake 24 hours and then you should sleep fine the next day
We must be having the same problem lol
I was having problems and read where calcium will relax you and help you sleep, I take 3 Citrical's and 2 Excedrin before bedtime and sleep very well now. It sure has worked for me. If problems try to creep in and keep me awake, I pretend that I won a million dollars and go on a wild shopping spree in my mind and that clears it so I can relax..try it
what i do is watch tv for a long time such as south park, sienfield, or the simpsons late at night, eventually my eyes burn out and i tend to fall asleep, or u can try to listen 2 ur ipod and u may fall asleep maybe after 10-20 songs. the reason people fall asleep faster is because of their confortablility, try taking showers at night and it may increase the rate in which u fall asleep faster
You have to get up at a regular time - even if you didn't get much sleep. A bunch of days of getting up in the morning and making yourself syay up all day, your body will figure out that you need to go to bed or you wont get sleep. It is not reasonable to expect your body to sleep when you hadn't been awake that many hours.
You need to be consistant with yourself.
we have the same problem. everyone was sleeping and im the only one awake. but in day time, they are all busy and im sleeping. what i did was, i didnt sleep at day time, i usually get myself tired like working out, biking every afternoon.. so that when the night comes, i felt tired and exhausted, took shower and have a good night sleep.. try it..
Like these guys said it it routine but I also do other things too, usually when I can't get to sleep it is because I am thinking about things and they are going over and over in my head. Naturally when you sleep your eyes (pupils) relax to the back to the right and you can actually do this or feel it as you go to sleep sometimes if you do that then it helps. The other thing I find helpful I controlling my breathing slowly slowing down your breathes this relaxes you much like mediation and makes you sleep, these are two things that really help me. But if it is thoughts sometimes you need to get them out onto paper or talking to someone it helps clear your mind. But if it is just because you are out of routine then I would do what others have suggested; set an alarm to early morning and get up at this time and then you will go to bed earlier naturally because you know you need to get up early.
Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress,
dietary and medical problems. By making
small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly,
insomnia can be cured. I found the information
