Tongue Piercing??
Question:
Answers:
During the first 24 to 48 hours the tongue usually swells to almost twice its normal size. Apply ice and drink ice water to minimize swelling and tenderness. Your barbell is long to allow for swelling. Swelling should begin to recede after 3 to 5 days. Over the counter pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprophen, advil, etc.) can help reduce swelling and discomfort. Do not take aspirin, which thins the blood. Rinse with an antibacterial mouthwash for 30 seconds after eating, drinking anything other than water, and smoking. Alcohol-free Biotene and Tech 2000 brand mouthwashes are recommended if alcohol free is not available, I suggest green scope. Because of its higher alcohol content and frequency of usage, Listerine is not recommended. After using the mouthwash rinse with water to remove mouthwash residues
I know the ultimate cure for piercing and tattoo pains:
amputation of head.
Tongue piercing may cause infection and damage your teeth.
It'll take a few days for the swelling to go down, it may be tender for a week or even 2. your tongue is a muscle, so it will heal rather quickly. don't eat anything solid, use listerine(half diluted) after eating, drinking, smoking, etc. have fun!
swelling will last 3-5 days. drink hot soups or noodles or anything hot. it helps =)
My boyfriend had his tongue pierced about a week ago and his tongue is still swollen and numb but it is almost back to normal
Best of luck!
You need to reduce the swelling, eat/suck on icy poles. Throughout the week, this will help reduce the swelling, they say the mouth is the cleanest area to get pierced so it should take about 2-3 weeks to heal properly, just try really hard not to play with it as this will aggravate it and make it worse. Hope this helps.
it could be a few days to a few weeks...just depends on your body.
It's normal for it not to be swollen at first. The swelling usually happens the next day. For me, it was that night when it started. It will be sore for about a week or so. Take Advil and eat popsicles and crushed ice to reduce swelling.
