Can Veins hurt? Neck pain what's going on?


Question:
I'm 23 years old and last month I got a sharp pain in the right side of my neck if felt like a vein or something. Today it's been doing the same thing and it's happened about 3 times so far. It's not a muscle I dont' think it feels like a pinch inside my neck like blood rushing too fast or something I'm not sure. I have no diseases or conditions my dad had open heart surgery and overall I eat pretty healthy. Has anyone experienced this. Is there anyone here that can give me some advice. Preferably nurses and Doctors. Thanks.
