Wat is the best food to take with percocet?

Question:
My dad had surgery yesterday and has been taking it with food like he is supposed to, but he still throws up every time he takes one. He has switched to only taking half of a pill and then another half later, but it's not helping. We have tried different kinds of food, but nothing is helping. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might help? Thanks!

Answers:
Call the dr and tell him, he will probably prescribe him some phenergan to take for nausea and vomiting
I would say something starchy and filling, maybe like pasta or brown rice with a protein.

Perhaps it is an allergic reaction of some sort, though, or two medications mixing badly, if he's on more than one. Call the doctor that prescribed the medication, and if that doesn't work, call the pharmacy. They'll be able to give you a better idea.

Best of luck!
Use an antacid such as Tums or Maalox fifteen minutes before eating so that it coats the stomach. This will help stop the severe reaction to the medication. I would recommend eating white rice or pasta but not with tomato sauce. You need foods that will coat the stomach.

If after This your father has problems he should contact his medical doctor.
