Migraines?

Question:
Can a visit to the chyropactor help? Will aligning my back alleiviate my migraines? Also does medicaid cover it?

Answers:
I get migraines. I have never tried a chiropractor, but I have a massage therapist. It helps a lot to have someone to work out the tension in my back. I was recommended to try it by a doctor because it helps increase and promote healthy blood flow to the brain (the main cause of a headache is lack of blood flow to the brain.) I have been hospitalized due to the severity of my migraines, but since I started the massage therapy, a new line of meds, and trying to severly limit my stress levels, they have subsided somewhat.

As far as Medicaid covering them, they dont usually. You would need to check with your insurance and probably get a referral from a doctor for them. Usually, you can get the first few covered, but it all depends on your specific insurance.
well i used have migraines constantly. but now i dont. and i dont think alleivating your back is going to do anything. well eating more. more caffine like soda. dont drink diet soda used to give me head ackes. just increase what you eat. and dont be in a stressful environment and you shouldnt have them as much.i hope this gets rid of the migrains.
Seeing a chiropractor will only help if a back problem is the cause of your migraines. It's important to know what's causing them before you start all kinds of treatments.

Migraines can be caused by a number of things: some foods can be triggers, such as chocolate, aged cheeses, nuts and red wine, certain scents can be triggers, stress is often a major factor, sleeping in an awkward position, etc., the list goes on and on.

For myself, I found out that most of my migraines were caused by caffeine withdrawal. If I don't have coffee at the same time every day (at breakfast and at dinner), a migraine will develop. That's why the pain-reliever Exedrin has now been labeled for migraine relief; it contains tylenol, aspirin and caffeine. So be aware of caffeine intake, including soft drinks that have caffeine, like most colas.

I also do yoga daily - the stretching helps keep my body in good working order and the practice of yoga with soothing music is a great stress-reliever.

Try keeping a daily record for about a week of everything you eat and when, how you feel when you wake up, where you went, how stressed you feel, whether you were around someone with strong perfume, etc., and of course when you have a migraine and what helps or doesn't help it. This may help you identify your migraine triggers.

The previous answerer said to "eat more", but that doesn't seem like a valid course of action. It's more about watching what you eat to see what makes your head hurt.

Good luck!
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
