Operation Nerves or Fear?
Question:
I also belong to a Heritage Museum(USAF)my question is do you think the dead inspire us when I go to the Museum I feel calm about the op thinking about all the brave young men who never came home in the war.
Is it the same for people who go to church, temple or whatever and where do you get your inspiration from.PAX
Answers:
Yes, I think that the dead can inspire us - particularly if they are ordinarily people who although have died, have changed the way for us. I have the utmost respect for them. I also take strength from the living - we all feel sorry for ourselves sometimes ( I am a hypochondriac!) but occasionally, you see someone or talk to someone who has faced real illness and it gives you a metaphorical kick up the bum!
You are going to be fine - you should know better than anyone how marvellous modern day medicine is and, how remarkable the human body is at recovering. Good luck for the op.
If it makes you feel good many people do different things some even go to grave yards
Surely it is the same as you go to church or where ever you get a feeling of peace and at one with yourself. Only an idiot would not be afraid of pain or other worries of such an operation.
ive had some serious surgeries, and spent months in hospital... nerves, fear, how about choice? you dont have the op, your condition deteriorates... you die...
coz thats it really, at the end of the day, d'you want to be a cripple, or worse... so where does fear come into it... were all scared of the unknown... but youre going to be unconscious... so..stop worrying and trust the surgeon to do his job...just hope its not Nick Riviera...
