Treatment for a concussion?

She told me that she's hoping for some 'powerful' drugs. Mind you that she's already on Paxil, Valium and Vicodin.
Will they give her more drugs? I hope not!

If your mom's pupils are different sizes,she truly,does have concussion. But, they may be same size if the concussion is mild.
As for the drugs,if you told her doctor she's a user,he would certainly look into her condition more closely,before prescribinany more of her favorites.
You may be wrong or right about whether she's faking,...sooooo,it's better to err to the side of safety,..git the ol' girl checked out,as the rest of us sit about and lift her up to Jesus!

i doubt it. the juices in her head got mixed up and they need to settle. the only sure for a concussion is time.
i've never heard of drugs being prescribed..
just hit her in the head opposite the concussion that will even it out.
Are Mom's eyes dilated? Can she walk very far? If she really is seeking potentially dangerous prescription meds you must tell the Doctor before she becomes an addict.
She needs to see her primary care physician(pcp) and you need to go with her. Make sure the doctor knows all of the medications (legal, over the counter, herbal, and illegal) your mom is taking. The PCP may refer you to a neurologist, pain management specialist, or both. The drugs you've listed will destroy her liver especially if mixed with alcohol. I doubt more drugs will be necessary, but do look into pain management to see about cutting back her meds.
two of her meds are for bad nerves, only vicodin is a pain pill.but the Dr. won't give more pain meds for hitting her head and if it has been 5 days she probably don't still have a concussion if she ever had one in the first place. Be good to her she is your mom, and you know moms they will drive you crazy if you let them, believe me I know, I have a lot like that myself! Good Luck and hang in there!
