How long does it take for pierced ears to grow back in?

Question:
A child pulled on my earring and my hole was enlarged - so I've not worn earrings since because they are lopsided. Can I have my ear repierced and how long should I wait before having it done so that earrings do not just slide down the larger hole?

Answers:
It'll take longer than you think. I had to have one of my ears re-pierced, due to an enlargement. First, a dermatologist had to sew up the old hole. He told me I'd have to choose another spot for the new piercing. He said he couldn't pierce over any scar tissue [previous spot]. Finally, he made the new hole. It was fast and relatively inexpensive.
I think it depends on the person. I think some people's never grows back
That happened to me too. Wait until they are almost fully closed up and then get them redone.

OR

My cuz had hers stitched up so it was smaller.

Hope this helps.
your best bet is a new hole in a different part of your lobe -- the old hole seldom if ever heals. i have holes that haven't had anything in them for 10 years. a friend of mine went to piercing classes and i am the majority not the exception. my cartilage holes healed up though -- i always thought it was kind of weird society accepts lobes that scar for life more than cartilage that heals. most piercings actually heal but lobes don't.
I's have to say wait until the enlarged hole completely closes, than get it repierced. Im ASSUMING that this may take from 6 months to a year depending on how large the enlarged hole is. But difinitely LET IT CLOSE AND GET IT REPIERCED. My friend whom i sat next to in phsyics class went through the same thing (her brother pulled on her right earlobe, causing it to become so much bigger than the other one). She didnt do anything about it, but i would get so distracted by it in physics class and would constantly be starring at it.
