What's causing pain where neck/shoulder meet, and down my arm?

I had this problem, except I was unable to move my neck at all. I finally had to go to the Doctor and he said that I had a pinched nerve, and that's what was causing the numbness and pain in my shoulder and arms, as well as my neck. He gave me a high dose of steroids to get the inflammation around the nerve to go away, and then treated the pain with muscle relaxers. He said that the pain and numbness in my arm was alarming, because if that is not dealt with quickly, it can become permanent. My advice...go see a Doctor, you never know how serious things can be.
You may have a pinched nerve. Try chiropractic if you're comfortable with it.
You don't mention how old you are - pain in the left arm and shoulder can also indicate a heart condition or partially blocked artery (especially in women) - please get checked out immediately!
This sounds like a nerve thats pinched, I would recommend you see a doctor because its not oging to do your body any good to keep taking pain medication that only partially helps the problem.
I would suggest going to a chiropractor for a couple of adjustments and see if this brings relief. You more than likely have a pinched nerve. Most times a chiropractor can take the stress off the nerve, allowing the body to heal itself. If you do not get relief then go to your doctor for an MRI. This will show injuries that an XRay cannot. You may have a herniated disk which, if caught in time, can be treated with Physical Therapy. Hope this helps.
