My back hurts when I am sitting on a chair?
Question:
Instead of being the lower back (I usually have pain in the lower back with the sitting position) it is the upper back (so painful)
I swim, I bike, I am super active. but I do have an office job, and I can't stand the sitting position.
Any suggestion most welcome!
Thank you!

It's good that you are active. That helps. You may need a different type of CHAIR that supports your back better. Also in may be helpful to wear a back brace when you are sitting at work. I've enclosed a link that has exercises you can do at work. This will help with the pain.
in the evening Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.
Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.
so does mine... you wanna swap chairs for a bit??
Yeah, I thought BenGay was for old people, but I used it once and it was great. Try sitting in a different position or adjusting the chair.
Maybe ask the office supervisor for a new chair if it's bad enough. Ask for something ergonomical and tell her it's interfering with work. Or ask if there's an extra/different chair somewhere.
Those symptoms aren't good at all...it may be a very serious condition that may grow into something much more serious. If it has been hurting for more than three days press ice over the area, if not...use heat. But on a side note: I strongly reccomend you seek medical help from a nearby Chiropractor.
Good Luck! :-)
maybe you should sit straight. go to a chiropractic.
