Question:
Last Tuesday I woke up and the middle knuckle on my right hand hurt really bad. It is now almost a week later and it hurts worse and two days ago it started to swell just a little around the knuckle. I can't pick up anything with a lot of weight because of the pain. If I rest my hand, it doesn't hurt. It hurts to even bend my middle finger. I don't remember doing anything to it. It is not black and blue. I can move it, but with pain. I am 30 and have no idea what is wrong. It hurts really bad if I press on the side of the knuckle. It hurts to even open the door. There are no bite marks from a bug. Anyone have anything like this happen to them.
Answers:
You asked if anything like this happened to anyone else, so I'm sharing. (Don't overreact to my input.)
My wife had a similar situation as yours at about the same age. Monitor it and see if over the next few weeks or so you get the same symptoms in other joints of the hand(s). If so, get it looked at. Sounds by your message that you've had it for a week and you mentioned no other joint pain but the one, which is good. Hers started out that way and then spread to other joints. Hers was diagnosed as Rheumatoid Arthritis, which isn't from overuse, but from the immune system attacking itself.
Good luck.
