Answers:
I think it is all the parents maybe 10% advertising. I know as I was a kid growing up I was super board during commercials even it it was for a new toy at mcdonalds or a candy commercial. If I went to mcdonalds to get the toy I did not even eat all of my kids meal. I did however, eat everyday the foods my mom and dad bought and adapted their eating habits. The parents set an example and just like 1 year old babies usually adapt their parents sleeping habits. People who stay up late babies stay up late too and people who go to bed at 9 babies go to bed then. It is the same when it comes to food. I am 25 now and when I go grocery shopping I find myself purchasing orida fries (healthier baked french fries) the extra lean 96% lean beef etc. These are the same things my parents ate all the time when I was young and now I adapted or acquired taste buds for them. If a child grows up drinking skim they will end up liking it better and it will taste nasty and thick to drink whole milk. Childhood obesity is because all the parents are obese also.
When your a kid most of the time you dont feed yourself. Often when you do feed yourself, its mostly only from the selection of things your parents have already chosen.
Some kids think to ask for certain things but most of the time its only for more junk.
I also think that anyone has the ability to change if they want to.
Being a kid is only a short time in your complete life, and an obesity epedemic is both in kids and adults.
i think the problem stems from people being unwilling to take responibility for thier own lives.
everyone wants rights, nobody wants responsibilities, everyone wants the free lunch. everybody wants to lose weight without being healthy but the reality of the situation is that there never is any free lunch.
once you start to take responsibility for your own life, when you look at something your eating and think to yourself "is this something i should be eating" as opposed to "somebody else said its ok" or not even thinking at all, you start to look at things in a different light.
i think it all stems from societies "somebody should do something about it" attitude. the government, a doctor, whatever, somebody who isnt me should deal with this.
i wasnt obese when i was a kid but i also wasnt a skinny healthy kid either. i have now chosen a completely different path, and have taken complete responsibility for my life, which includes investigating and learning whether something is a food or a poison.
if i have a health problem, the first thing i do is go looking for information for myself. so i can understand whats happening and make an informed decision myself.
the last thing that i want to d with something thats important as my own health and diet is to shove the responsibility of to somebody else who probably doesn't have my best interests at heart or who in the very least doesn't care as much as i do.
I think everyone else to blame, everyone out there who maintains the "somebody should do something" mentality. people should set a good example for the children of our time and instead maintain a "what can i do" mentality.
Yes most definitely, everything impacts on your health, I have a great company where I purchase online each month products that are environmentally friendly, concentrated and without all the nasty chemicals. Health and Wellness is their motto. I have almost totally converted my home to their products, my childrens skin is no longer dry, they get a bear shaped vitamin, there are so many benefits and health products. They deliver your products to your door. What parents do NOW effects their childrens lives in some way forever. If they set good examples themselves, their children will follow. If you or anyone else out there is interested, email me.
