Massage Therapy or Chiropractor?
Question:
Answers:
You should go see a doctor and have him/her x-ray your neck to make sure nothing is broken or displaced. Once you have those results, then you could take the doc's suggestion of who to see.
see the chiropractor there you will get a massage before an adjustment--the diving was very dangerous--you could be paralyzed fro life--remember this and be cautious
You should definitly go to a chiropractor and ask for an x-ray and treatment. They will snap you right back into shape, even if it is a muscle problem.
If you have not already done this, I would get e-rays
done just to make sure that everything is ok, and
then take it from there.

your neck is important so don't take a chance. Go see the Chiropractor. In the long run if you don't fix the problem it will just get worse. Fix the problem now and it will get better now. Massage Therapy will not fix your muscles either, they will just make you feel good for a while. Don't waist your money.
Chiropractor - it sounds like you may have both muscular and skeletal problems and the chiropractor is more equipped to deal with this type of injury. You may need 3 or more visits to the chiropractor to fix this problem but she/he will have you feeling better soon. A massage in this case my actually feel good at first but could aggravate the injuries - wait until you feel better before you see a massage therapist.
I had I similar injury last month (I was pushed into a pool backwards) and I felt better in about a week. Good luck!
See you regular doctor. You want to rule out any major injuries first. They can take x-rays and make sure you didn't break anything.
Once you get the OK on that, they'll tell you if it's muscular and can give you muscle relaxants and pain killers too.
Then you'll know better if you really need to see a massage therapist or chiropractor.
First things first, please go get a X-ray. The part that concerns me is the fact that you are getting shocking pain when you eat something. One X-ray you want to make sure you get is a APOM (Anterior Posterior Open Mouth) The reason you want to get this X-ray is you want to see if you faractured your C1 or C2 vertebrae. After you find out if you have not fractured anything. You should go see a chiropractor that has massage therapy in his/her office. Bottom line you need to get you muscles/ligaments/tendons worked on so that you don't creat too much scar tissue.
