Are their any major ateries in the...?

Question:
...in the lip? This might be a really dumb question, but it concerns a project i'm doing. As an example, if someone was punctured in their labret/ lower lip area, could they bleed out?I don't see how somone could, but its a concern. If you know alot about this, please help.

Answers:
the lips are very fleshy and blood-rich. they bleed extensively, but you will not bleed out if you injure them. I know this because my sons have a bleeding disorder and I have to be very aware of these things.
I am almost Sure there is not, i knocked my two top teeth through the bottom of my lip, and i never heard anything about it missing a major artery, or any for that mattter.
If their a hemophiliac then sure they could...
No, Your Lip is a muscle. Your lip would not have an arterie in there. The cause of bleeding is because your capillaries get cut.
When I was starting my surgical residency I was taught that all bleeding stops eventually..

(It's a joke)

A project, huh? We would need more detains on what kind of punture, but unlikely to cuase you to bleed out.

Still, puncturing your lip for a project doesn't sound like a good idea, you know what I mean? I have seen people lose parts of their lip due to infection.
