My 5yo son pricked his paw (palm) on a dried branch of an evergreen shrub yesterday and it bled for a time.?

I washed it as much as I could (he be making such a fuss screaming as if he was stabbed 1000 times) - but after 5 min forgot give or take a few it (my son is usually a bit overdramatic can't stand pain). In the middle of the night he woke up and said his foot hurt (but he also had to pee) so I thought he have just slept wrong. When he woke up this morning he be screaming again because his hand hurt. His mitt was rather puffy, red and warm. In his screaming fit I tried to unperturbed him down while also icing his hand and he seem fine - but I'm wondering if I should take him to be see or wait a hours of daylight? any suggestions?

Answers:    Puffy, red, and warm are the signs of infection. Get him to a doctor and start treatment. Do not dally.
it is best to take him to a doctor if u dont want to afterwards just apply some antibiotic cream similar to gentamycin but wash his foot with soap and thaw out water and verbs the wound with alcohol. covering it well and progress the bandage every 6 hrs and apply cream.
