Question:
For about 3 months now I have been having pains deep behind the tailbone. It seems like a trivial and embarrassinq thinq to see a new Dr. for but it's a pain that isn't really qettinq better. There is no bleeding it's just like a deep bruised feeling. Should I wait it out longer? It can also feel arthritic when I stand from a sitting position[if i've been sittinq for too lonq]. Lately it's only been hurtinq in certain sittinq positions, exaqerated jumps or stretches, & when i finish dancinq[after a while]. If I qot injured inside would a small tear heal in a couple of months?Plus i never injured it, the pain just arrived qradually after my aunts weddinq. I have had suspisions that it was because i was wearinq heels and dancinq alot[neither in which i do often]. i am only 13 and it couldn't have been caused by any adult-like behavior. Can anyone provide me details as to what this is, what i should do and how it was possibly started?
Thanks
Answers:
Sounds like you tailbone is misaligned (out of place). This can cause quite a bit of pain at the bottom of your spine, especially when sitting. This is usually caused by a fall, or from sitting on a hard surface for a long period of time. If it still bothers you after 3 months, it's not going to go away on its own, it hasn't corrected itself. The best thing you can do is visit a chiropractor. It won't take long to determine if it is a chiropractic problem, and a tailbone adjustment is very simple and painless. This usually results in immediate improvement of pain. For temporary relief, you could sit on an icepack, or one of those donut gel packs.
