Arthritis in my feet?

When your first few steps out of bed in the morning cause severe pain in the heel of your foot, or along the bottom of your foot, you may have plantar fasciitis (fashee-EYE-tiss). (as well as arthritis). Look it up on Google. It can come and go, but will go only if you take care of it. Best advice is to not get out of bed and walk without putting on shoes, and take time to do the stretching exercises of the tendons. I soak my feet in warm water before exercising, it helps the tendon to relax. There are some items you can buy to wear at night that keep the tendon from tightening up, but I don't think I could get to sleep with something like that on my feet.
Interesting note: My sister had arthritis in her feet and was going to have surgery done. Believe it or not, her young horse accidently stepped on her left foot and basically crushed all the calcium deposits and stuff in the arthritic areas. It hurt like blazes, and she thought her foot was broken. The x-rays showed no broken bones (thankfully!) but ever since, after it healed, she's had absolutely no pain in that foot.
Hi luvmyhubby, I can understand your wanting to find ways to ease the pain.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it caused me to walk on the outside edges of my feet, the pain was so bad. I sprained my ankles many times before I got the pain under control.
Some of the things I tried were, custom made orthodics..they helped alot.
Accupuncture, very helpful if you find a good accupuncturist.
Taking a nutritional product everyday...this was the most effective, long term result I have come across.
If you're interested, I did a website on how I returned to an active life, living with Rheumatoid Arthritis, which, if you know anything about the disease is a feat in itself. The website is http://www.livingwithrheumatoidarthritis...

Exercise is the most beneficial thing for your body. Even patients of rheumatoid arthritis can benefit from it. But they should not do every type of exercise, since some can cause more harm than good. They should select exercises that strengthen the muscles but do not harm the joints. One of the best exercises for all is walking. It is an excellent low impact activity and does not exert unnecessary pressure on the joints. The other good exercises are biking or walking in a pool.
