I found out i have scoliosis. is it bad for you?

i got my x-ray today and i got scoliosis. im puzzled because it sounds dangerous. i heard its not bad, its like having curved toes. is it true?

If you seek early treatment, mild curvatures of the spine can be corrected. For serious cases, surgery may be required but those extremes are more rare. Letting scoliosis go untreated could lead to worse, irreparable problems, caused by stress on other muscles or organs or nerves. So it is important to follow your doctor's advice and get other opinions.

I had two friends in high school wear back braces to correct the problem early. The main "danger" is ignoring the problem. If it isn't serious now, it is best to follow corrective measures so it doesn't become serious later and require surgery or cause damage that can't be repaired.
I suffer from the same thing.. It has never stopped me from doing anything that I have wanted to.. even joined the armed forces... just means curviture of the spine!!
it depends on the severity. if its severe, you might require surgery or back brace. if its not severe, you can work on your posture to correct it.
It does depend on your degree of curvature. Sometimes if it is just mild, you may just have to watch injuring your back, and your hips could be uneven. If your doctor says it is mild, don't worry about it.
It does depend on how severe it is. My neighbor JUST found out he had it, and had to get metal rods and screws on his spine. Ewww!

It depends on how much your spine is curve and if it is progressive (if it continues to curve). If you have no current discomfort then your fine but it continues to curve or you begin to develop difficulty breathing then see you doctor.

I have scoliosis myself, I've had it since i was 22 and I'm 28 now, If they say it isn't bad then iw ouldn't worry about it too much, How about this depending on it's severity it CAN BE dangerous, however for most people it's not, I would from now on avoid heavy lifting as it can make it worse,

Ask about physical therapy exercises that you can do I do them and they help.

Chiropracters can't do sh*t about this like they may say.
