I used to work on the *** counter at the Co-op and for some reason I remember a 10 pack of Regal cost 95p I think the cheap fags were £1.60 and a brand name about £1.80. Can't think why the 10 pack price sticks in my head so clearly though I've never smoked in my puff!
I remember a 10 pack being about 77p then.
i used to smoke red band back then a spar shop cheepie they cost about 70p for 10
We used to club together for 10 benson- about 80 pence- then go for a 3 drag pass ;)- someone would always hotbox it though=lung burner.
About £1.80 for 20 if I remember rightly. I was at college and the Student Unions ciggy machine charged that.
I remember when I used to smoke in 1990,20 Benson and Hedges were £2.25.
Having given up a few years ago...I was totaly shocked to find out how much they are now.
When I started smoking in about 1989 they were 75p for 10 and £1.50 for 20. With inflation, I would suggest that they were about £1.70 in 1990.
I've since given up
