How can I get him to sleep?

Question:
My boyfriend stays up until almost 6am in the morning. he's tried taking a shower before bed or even warm milk, but nothing seems to help him go to sleep. by the time its 6am his body is so tired that it gives out...he doesnt want to start sleeping aid meds cause you can get hooked...what can we try?

Answers:
Well if he sleep late in the day that could cause the problem. Try getting him up early it will eventually change his natural clock so he feels tired earlier in the evening.
Do the sleeping medication, it is the only thing that will help.
Get him off a couple of times. Now thats a sleeping pill.
umm try doing a different schedual and don't stress him out or mabey even tea
Try Tylenol pm. It takes a bit of time to work, so take it an hour before bed time. If this persists go see your doctor about a prescription medication.
try a routine of going to bed at the same time every day. only use the bed for sleep. not to read or eat in. that way once u lay in the bed ur body knows thats what ur supposed to do. lunesta is a non habit forming sleep aide.
A good orgasm always puts my man out for the night... you should try it.
Maybe sure that he doesn't drink anything with caffeine in it after 600pm. I was unable to sleep because I was having 3 or 4 bottles of coke after six. Once I stopped the caffeine before 600pm I was able to sleep
Wow,I've never heard of that.Maybe you should try a physiologist or a therapist, this problem could be going on within his mind.
exercise about 5 hours before he wants to fall asleep. exercise really hard so his body will be exhausted.

the other option is yoga. do yoga 2 hours before he wants to fall asleep. the yoga will help him relax and he can fall asleep.

no sodas, caffiene, any stimulants 6 hours before sleep time. don't eat anything 4 hours before sleep time.

no tv in the bedroom. don't watch tv while trying to fall asleep.

read a boring book. good luck.
Physical exhaustion has always been the best way. Some people lift weights before they go to be to use whatever energy they may have remaining in their body..

OTC drugs as benadryl has often been recommended as a sedative before going to bed. However, certain people are allergic to benadryl. There is a non habit forming suppliment called melatonin. Melatonin is often used for people trying to get on a regular sleep pattern and for those with insomnia. Many neurologists will recommend melatonin as it has the least habit forming properties and causes the fewest interactions with other medications.

You generally start with 1.5mg 1x a night an hour or two before you wanting to be sleeping and you have to use it in the same schedule for about 8-10 days before you find that you no longer need it to get to bed. For some, the need to take 3mg a night.

Good thing about melatonin is that unlike other sleep aids (OTC and Rx) melatonin doesnt leave you groggy in the morning.

I would also recommend that he gets some physical exercise during the day to make the transition easier.
Dear Castellonjessica,

There are three things that will greatly help him drift off to sleep and they are all natural! There are no addictions and no side effects!!

1. Chamomile Tea: One 8 oz. cup of this tea and he'll feel like resting.

2. There are Chamomile Tea Pillows that you can purchase or simply make one for him yourself. They have these in some Hotels. They make them available for those who can't sleep well in hotels, who can't stand sleeping away from home or simply had a bad day.

3. Also, Relax and Sleep Formula: Made from Valerian Root and Passiflora Extract. Two pills nightly for an adult.

These all work! If you want to make him one, choose a pillow case already made, that he likes to sleep on. Fill it with some cotton filler from the craft section of Wal-Mart, mixed with dried chamomile tea leaves. He'll sleep like a baby!
what i always do to fall asleep is either watch tv, listen to the radio and start singing the song on it and that helps me to fall asleep. also i like to fall asleep sometimes on my husbands chest i dont know why this works for me but i hope this helps
