Question:
I have an ESWL scheduled to break up a kidney stone. I then have a very important business appointment 24 hours later. Will I feel any effects from the general anesthesia by then? I am told that the procedure only takes an hour, so I am assuming the amount of general anesthesia will be low (IV instead of gas). I want to make certain I will not feel tired/sleepy/"hung over" for my business appointment.

Twilight anesthesia...you won't feel it the next day...but the peices of calcium crystal you pee out may hurt,your doc will probably give you oxycodone or hydrocodone...
Nah you should be fine, today's drugs are amazing, they are short acting with very little hangover effects, you might however have some discomfourt after the procedure and feel up to going for this meeting due to pain. Think about it, you might want to postpone your business meeting.
