What is Postlaminect syndrome?

Question:
I have had a lumbar fusion and at the end of the month I am having my second lunbar decompression. Does this have anything to do with my question?

Answers:
post laminectomy syndrome is usually caused by scar tissue formation at the site of the previous surgery. it can cause stenosis (or narrowing) just like the bone and ligament that was there before. usually the scar tissue takes several years to form but i have seen it form much quicker in some of my patients.
The only thing I could find about it is the ICD 9 code. Even the National Institute of Health website and MedLine didn't have anything.
Sorry

Actually, the ICD 9 code was a Lumbar radiography code so I will assume that you upcoming procedure has something to do with it.
Have you tried a Yahoo search for "postlaminectomy syndrome"?
