Sudden swollen and numb thumb?

My right thumb pad is swelling and feel numb and hard, I didnt hit it on anything, whats stirring?!

Answers:    There is a condition in where on earth you can get an infection surrounded by the pad of your finger...from small hangnail...etc...you may have need of antibiotics,see your provider...impossible to tell w/o exam
