What is hospice for?
Question:

I'm afraid to answer because I don't know why you're asking this question, but the only need for hospice care is to care for the terminally ill. When a person finally agrees to hospice, it means they won't go to the hospital anymore and won't see any more doctors. The job of hospice workers is to make the person as comfortable as possible in their final days.
My uncle had hospice care at home. The nurses were wonderful. I hope this answers your question.
I have to agree with Bexx on this one - yes, it's for the terminally ill. My mother also had hospice care before she succumbed to ovarian cancer.
Hospice is for the terminally ill. When a person goes on hospice, they can continue using any equipment they already had (wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, insulin, etc.), but doctors no longer interfere: no new medicine, no surgeries, etc. They stay at home as opposed to a hospital, and the hospice nurse works to keep them comfortable in their final days/weeks.
