Anyone else have a similar experience?

Question:

when i was 17, i was in a car wreck, and i wasn't hurt too bad, but the ambulance still came and picked me up to take me to the hospital. as it turned out i had a broken rib, leg, and foot, and some other minor injuries. When i got to the hospital, there were alot of doctors and nurses, and within a couple minutes, they cut off all of my clothes (even my underwear!), and continued to examine me. I know that they were just there to help and do their job, but it was still embarassing being a seventeen year old girl laying flat on my back naked with all of these people around.

Just wondering if anyone my age had a similar expeirance, i'd like to hear it. It would be nice to know that this has happened to girls other than myself.

It happens to anyone who is brought to the ER after an accident. After an accident or bodies produce Adrenalin which help block pain, so in some cases patients are not even aware of injury's, Although I'm sure you were embarrassed I can assure you they were doing what they are trained to do. Let me tell you a story.. My brother is an ER doctor and while examining a group of teenagers after an auto accident all were in neck braces and received ct scans, one of the boys had taken off his neck brace and gone to get a drink without the OK from the er staff. Upon the review of the films they discovered that his neck was severely fractured.One wrong head turn or even a sneeze and this 17yr old would have been paralyzed from the neck down. They found him in the waiting room on the phone. He had no idea how badly injured he was. He was immediately put back in a neck brace and taken to surgery, this is just one example how badly injured you can be with out even knowing it. Thank the ER staff for thoroughly checking you and doing their job!!

I had a friend have it happen to her. How old are you now?
